Our Benefactors

 Introducing our Benefactors!

Hollywood Dreams is grateful for the generous support it has received over the years from various organizations.  We’d like to recognize two organizations that recently provided grants which are enabling us to better fulfill our mission.

The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation awarded Hollywood Dreams 2 grants in the spring of 2013.

  • The first grant will help to defray the costs of a year long “Outreach to Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in the 15-30 Year Old Age Group”  program.  Thanks to the grant, Hollywood Dreams will be sponsoring 3 free events as part of our outreach to individuals with disabilities in Coos and Douglas Counties.
  • The second grant makes funds available for assessment, development and training for the Board of Directors.

The Zonta Club of Coos Bay underwrote the cost of 2 workshops which were held early in 2013.

  • Dealing with Domestic Abuse and Violence was designed especially for women, and addressed the concerns of many females who have developmental disabilities.  This highly successful event provided the tools to help eliminate violence against women with developmental disabilities.  The volunteers at the workshop were both heartened and troubled by the stories that the attendees related, particularly their tales of abuse.  We hadn’t expected so many of the participants to speak so freely and frankly about their concerns, fears and issues.  For most of them, this was the first time the topic had been discussed so openly, and they saw the occasion as very important.
  • Dealing with Bullying, Ridicule and Being Taken Advantage of Financially was a topic that was very much appreciated by the participants, and we were quite overwhelmed by the positive response of the attendees.  It was obvious from the questions and the lengthy discussions that the attendees saw this as a very useful workshop.

Many thanks to all the organizations who have helped Hollywood Dreams over the years!

We appreciate you all!
